Equipment Donations

As the name suggests, Initiative Surf is about taking the initiative not only with improving your own surfing but by trying to do the right thing.  To us, that means trying to give back in some way to the local communities where Initiative takes clients.  Many of these coastal communities are in Central America where local surfers struggle to access good, or even suitable equipment.

The board delivery service is based around the idea of leaving a surfboard behind after every trip for a local surfer, so that they too can enjoy their waves to the best of their potential. All donations welcome in any way shape or form and all donations are hand delivered and go direct to the source. Please get in contact if you would like to donate.

Support and Sponsorship

Initiative Surf offers small scale local support, subsidies and sponsorship aid to young surfers with great potential but not necessarily the means to develop.
• coaching sessions
• surf contest travel, entry costs and subsistence
• equipment replacement

Environment

Our ever-growing environmental responsibility es ingrained in our ethos.

We work with two local environmental bases initiatives

Aside from having a dirty beach with items on it that are a risk to our health and potentially damaging to the local economy, there are lots of very good reasons to remove plastic from the marine environment.

So while a 2 minute beach clean might seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things it is important. Every piece of plastic that you remove from the marine environment is no longer a danger to the animals that still live there. They won’t break down into micro plastics, strangle seabirds or mammals or end up being ingested.

The #2minutebeachclean is run by The Beach Clean Network Limited a not for profit organisation that was set up in 2009 by Martin Dorey and Tab Parry to encourage beach cleaning.
